I bet when you read the title of this post, you thought I meant I’m ready for the kids to be back in school because they’re driving me nuts, huh? Actually, the answer to that is “no.” This is a big year–our oldest starts kindergarten. Cue the standard “I can’t believe it” tears and hours spent basking in baby book memories. I am not ready. There–I said it. I’m not ready for her to walk the ginormous halls of a new place and have to face big kid land. I wish we could be happy go lucky and just hang out at home all day, but I guess I have to share her with the world, right? Since I can’t keep them in this perfectly protected bubble, I at least want them to be prepared. Here are some of my faves to be back to school ready!

Have I said yet that my Ella is starting Kindergarten? I just don’t get it. Major mommy pity party going on–can you tell? I have tried to savor each and every moment since the day she entered the world and STILL it has flown by. None the less, I have to let her spread her wings. So here she goes, ready for the first day of school, rocking this comfy-as-all-get-out Kindergarten tee by Beach Town Baby. Bring on those sight words and ABCs! {Get 10% off using coded BTB10}

Hi, my name is Ashley and I’m that mom that always has to have a bow or headband on my girls. I can’t help myself. They are absolutely stunning without one, but there is something oh so sweet about a big giant bow atop their head. These headbands from Bee Mine Sunshine are the perfect addition to their school year cutesie repertoire. Styles shown include Floral Stripe Top Knot and Popsicle Top Knot. In addition to these beauties, there are dozens of others equally satisfying to the headband and bow addict in me that might even include pineapples, peonies and pops of bright colors. {free shipping through 7/31 with code SHIP4FREE + newsletter sign up with 10% off}

One of the biggest foundational things we teach our children in life, is manners. “Please” and “thank you”, the magic words that make the world go round. That is the hope of the family behind Mind Your Manners Monsters. They are a family of six, and I can only imagine that a few times a day “I’m sorry,” is a popular word. In times where it feels like as parents, scolding is all that occurs sometimes, these cards help bring a little fun into it and catch it on the forefront. Teaching our children respect, appreciation and grace can only affirm our hopes that they will be a beaming light in the world. It seems so elementary, but even as adults, getting back to the basics can go a long way.

Surprise, surprise, back to bows again. I tried to warn y’all about my problem! There is no shame in my bow game and they are always the perfect little accessory. Chico Rose has an amazing line up of felt bows with a leather accent. For extra fun points,  you get to pick how the leather wrap is tied! As a details gal, the logo, the wood plank, the mix of textures equals true love. Shown on Lola: Chico Bow Clip II in Linen. {Ready to get your bow fix? Can’t leave out my little man among his sisters, all bowified. Not sure if that’s even a word, but seems fitting. Many of the colors available in hair clips, also come in bow tie form, such as this Chico Bow Tie II in Pacific on my Jase man.

Did you think I forgot about you momma? No way, you and I both know, YOU are a huge part of the success your children achieve. Late nights doing homework, washing who knows what in the wash and acting as a chauffeur each day, major points to you. Did you feel my fist bump? This. This is one of my most valuable possessions. My planner and all it’s detailed, organized glory by Plum Paper is my oxygen source during the craziness the school year holds. Besides the pick me up floral design of their weekly planner, you can customize horizontal rows as you please. Yes, that is why I am sane. When people ask me how I do it, I ask, “have you seen my planner?” They also have amazing add ons including fitness planners, budget, blogging, wedding and business planning. {To receive 10% off your order, use code sheisblankspace10}

These sweet little vintage hats by BluTaylor are perfection for dress up play or an evening out after a long days work at school. Katie, the designer behind them, and her team, hand sew each light weight fabric piece. Being a former NICU nurse and preemie mommy, I lept for joy when I saw they had a preemie program that gifts a hat to micro preemies to bless them during their journey along the way. What a precious gift to the mommas holding on to hope. {Receive free shipping through 8/2 using code BTFreeShip}

After the kids have been away at school for the morning or all day, it’s so important to me that they get comfort from their home. We took a great amount of time to give them a space to call their own and have recently added these prints by Little Printery Place. For Jase’s room full of all things boy, we have mix of trendy, bright colors and some rustic flair. Dr. Seuss said my goals for them perfectly in the Why Fit in When You Were Born to Standout print.

Besides the Mi Piace il Gelato print matching perfectly with the light teal and wainscoting walls of our girls’ room, we love ice cream around here. It’s one of our favorite dates to have with them and I’m sure many a celebrations ahead for great report cards. And seeing this adorable print each day in their room will only reinforce the fun times ahead.

    I am so ready for school to start up again. It feels like we’re back to a schedule rather than do whatever you want for summer.
    I enstilled manners in my little guy from a young age. Manners are so important. It’s essential to start good habits early.
